How long is each session?

Each counselling session is approximately 52 minutes in duration.  All sessions start promptly at the scheduled appointment time, as June prioritises punctuality out of respect for the busy lives of clients.

NOTEThe last appointment each day commences 1 hour before the closing time indicated above.

What is the current waiting time for an appointment?

The current waiting period is between 1-3 weeks, depending on the day/time.  June maintains a daily appointment waitlist and will text if earlier appointments become available.  Please note that there are currently no appointments after 3pm for 6 weeks.

What happens if you run late for your appointment?

June aims to be punctual for all appointments, as she understands that clients have work and other commitments.

If you are late for a scheduled appointment, please note:

  • As a courtesy, please text June to let her know when you will arrive.

  • If you are not in the Practice or online after 5 minutes, June will text you.

  • If you do not text June within 20 minutes of your appointment time, June will cancel the appointment (cancellation fees apply).  If you text, June will wait for you.

  • If you do not attend your appointment, the cancellation fees below will apply.

Unfortunately, sessions cannot be extended due to lateness, as this will impact other clients.

What is the Cancellation policy?

A minimum of 48 hours notice (from your appointment time/date) is required to reschedule or cancel a session without incurring any fees. This policy is in place to allow June time to offer the appointment to another client on her waitlist. If you cancel with sufficient notice and June is unable to rebook the appointment with another client, the cancellation fee will be waived and she will let you know (so the more notice the better).

  • Cancellation within 24-48 hours notice:  50%

  • Cancellation with less than 24 hours notice:  100%

  • Non-attendance:   100%

No further sessions will be booked if you refuse to pay the cancellation fee.

Note - Receipts for Medicare and health fund claiming cannot be provided for cancellation or non-attendance fees.

Non attendance / No show -  If you do not turn up for your session, the full fee must be paid regardless of the reason, as June will be prepared and waiting for you, and will not have had the opportunity to offer the appointment to another client.   The non attendance cancellation fee must be paid before further appointments can be booked.

Unpaid/late session fees  - all fees are due on the date of each appointment by bank transfer.  If follow-up is required, a $10 late payment administration fee may be added to the amount due.  Unfortunately, counselling will not continue if a session fee is unpaid.

Cancellations of TWO consecutive appointments:  Sessions are booked with therapeutic outcomes in mind.  Unfortunately, if you cancel two or more sessions consecutively, we will need to discuss what is happening and how/if we can move forward together to achieve your goals.  Uncovering any barriers to attendance can be helpful if you are struggling to attend.

What is a Chronic Disease Plan and how is it used?

The Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan was introduced by the Australian Government to provide additional financial support through Medicare for people with chronic or terminal medical conditions.  A chronic medical condition is one that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or longer.  Examples include asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, musculoskeletal conditions and stroke.

If your chronic or terminal medical condition requires the care from a multidisciplinary, team-based approach from your GP and at least 2 other health care providers.  There is no list of eligible conditions; however, the Chronic Disease Management (CDM) Plan items are designed for patients who require a structured approach, including those requiring ongoing care from a multidisciplinary team.

Whether someone is eligible for Chronic Disease Management (CDM) services is a clinical judgement for your GP, taking into account your medical condition and care needs, as well as the general guidance set out in the Medicare Benefits Scheme (MBS).  Patients who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs and are being managed by their GP under a GP Management Plan (item 721) and Team Care Arrangements (item 723) are eligible for Medicare rebates for certain allied health services such as psychology on referral from their GP.

A referral is valid for the stated number of services. If all services are not used during the calendar year in which the patient was referred, the unused services can be used in the next calendar year. However, those services will be counted towards the five rebates for allied health services available to the patient during that calendar year.

It is possible to receive up to 5 rebates of $50 under the Chromic Disease Management (CDM) Plan if your GP determines that you are eligible and best managed under this referral.
